The Australian Memory Boxes Program

This volunteer effort was to provide keepsake boxes for families of stillborn infants who pass away. The Memory Box was given to the parents of the child so that they didn’t leave the hospital without some representation of the child’s life. The box was a place to store cherished memories such as wristbands, footprints, certificates and the like.

Each box was supplied and painted by volunteer artists across the country and donated to hospitals to use at this very difficult time. From 2006-2018, over 8,500 memory boxes were donated to hospitals across the country.

Unfortunately, the program has now closed.
